I didn’t realize that there are so many free web conferencing tools. My group and I were assigned to Vyew. It supports document sharing, whiteboarding, teleconferencing, desktop sharing, plus so much more. Vyew is robust for a free application! The great thing about Vyew is that when you invite people into your Vyew account, you can limit their access to specific Vyewbooks, and even force them to follow you from one Vyewbook to another one in real-time if you are taking them through different content. Collaborators and moderators can also go in anytime after meetings to update any changes that need to be made to the Vyewbooks. When I scheduled the meetings, it was really simple and easy to assign my group mates to be collaborators, which can draw/annotate, delete drawings, import or download content, and set sync mode.
During my group and I’s live conferencing sessions, we can communicate via Vyew's free teleconferencing service, instant text chat, webcam, Voice over IP and by sharing desktops. The only thing I did not like was the webcam and teleconferencing sessions. The webcam screen is way too small and when we were talking, my group mates and I could not hear each other that well. If you or anyone else needs to do virtual meetings or distance learning, give Vyew a shot and see how you like it.
